2022 is over, and it’s time to start the new year with a fresh start. Here are 17 things I left behind in 2022. And things you should leave behind too.

1. Neglecting Your Health.

This year, take time to nourish your body with healthy foods and exercise. Take care of yourself and prioritize self-care. If you don’t make time for your health now, it could have a major impact on other aspects of your life later.

2. Limiting Beliefs and Playing Small.

This year, step out of your comfort zone and just go for It. You are worthy of success and have the potential to do amazing things. Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back anymore.

3. Unhealthy and Toxic Relationships.

It’s time to reevaluate the relationships in your life and decide what is worth keeping and what needs to go. Surround yourself with people who motivate and support you and who bring out the best in you. You deserve better, so put your mental health and energy first by looking out for red-flag behavior and prioritizing only keeping positive people and vibes in your life.

4. Self-Doubt.

Stop second-guessing yourself and have confidence in your decisions and abilities. Believe in who you are and the amazing potential that lies within you. Love yourself hard and embrace your potential.

5. Anxiety About the Future.

Instead of worrying about the unknown, focus on what you can control today and use that to create the future you want. Stay in the present and make it count because, realistically, you can’t even get to tomorrow without going through today.

This year, try something new. Don’t let fear stand in the way of learning and success. Remind yourself that failure is just an opportunity for growth and not the end of the world.

Stop comparing yourself to other people and focus on your own journey. Everyone has their own timeline. Your success story is on the way, you just need to start competing with yourself instead to get to it sooner.

10. Perfectionism and Perfectionistic Standards.

Forget about finding perfection and instead strive for progress each day. Allow yourself to make mistakes without beating yourself up about them. Doing your best is good enough, and unless you’re God, perfection does not exist anyway.

11. Stagnation and Comfort Zone.

This year, take some risks and be willing to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. The only way to grow is if you challenge yourself and try new things. Period.

12. Negative Self-Talk.

Be kind to yourself and choose positive self-talk over negative. Don’t be too hard on yourself, and remind yourself that you’re doing your best. There’s a way to yearn to be better and engage in personal development without putting yourself down in the process.

13. Imposter Syndrome.

Don’t let imposter syndrome take over your motivation and instead focus on the positives of what you can provide to any situation or challenge. You’ve already come this far in life, and that in itself is proof that you can do whatever it takes to succeed. Believe in yourself and your abilities.

It’s time to ditch unhealthy coping strategies like drinking away your problems or emotional eating and instead focus on healthier alternatives like exercise, journaling, or talking to someone close to you.

Stop settling and start demanding what you deserve in life. Be clear about your standards and own up to how amazing you are. Life’s too precious to not fight for what is best for yourself. Don’t settle; aim high! You got this.

As I said, life is too precious. Take the time to sit down and map out your goals and dreams, both short-term and long-term. Take actionable steps towards making them happen, even if it’s just baby steps at first. Get clear about what you want for yourself and make a conscious effort to live your life with intention.

17. Procrastination.

Stop procrastinating and start today, as uncomfortable as it may be. Just start. No more excuses or delays. It’s time to take action and make things happen. Let’s go.
